The FINANCE™ Editor makes it easy to manage your Bids without switching between apps or tools. By adding the FINANCE™ Editor to your form, you can create a new Bid or select one that already exists and link it to the Smart Item you're working on.

Step 1: Add the FINANCE™ Editor to Your Form

  1. Open your App in AppStudio™ and go to the App Designer.

  2. Drag the FINANCE™ Editor field into your form from the list of available field types.

  3. Click the field to configure its settings.

Step 2: Set Up the FINANCE™ Editor for Bids

  1. Under the Details tab, fill in the following:

    • Tile Name: FINANCE™ Editor

    • Type: Editor

    • Display Name: Example – “Finance: Bids”

  2. Choose Which Finance Editor to be rendered? and select Bids.

  3. Under How would you like this Finance Editor to be added?, choose:

    • Create New if you want users to start a new Bid from the form.

    • Select from Existing if you want users to pick from previously created Bids.

    • You can also select both options to allow either method.

  4. If you enable Select from Existing, turn on Do you want to Filter by Status? and choose the Bid statuses (e.g., “Draft” or “Ready to Post”) that should be available for selection.

Step 3: Create or Select a Bid from the Form

Once the FINANCE™ Editor is set up, users will see a Bid section when filling out the Smart Item form.

If “Create New” is enabled:

  1. Click the CREATE BID button or the + icon.

  2. A new Bid will be automatically created and opened.

  3. Enter the details and bidders as needed.

  4. Click Save inside the Bid screen to complete it.

  5. After saving, the Bid details will appear in the form:

    • Bid Name

    • Last Modified Date

    • Total Bid Amount

    • Number of Bidders

    • Current Bid Status

If “Select from Existing” is enabled:

  1. Click the Select Bid dropdown or the SELECT BID button.

  2. Choose a Bid from the filtered list.

  3. Once selected, the Bid details will automatically appear in the form:

    • Bid Name

    • Last Modified Date

    • Total Bid Amount

    • Number of Bidders

    • Current Status

  4. Click OPEN BID if you want to view or make changes to the selected Bid.

If Both Options are Enabled:

You will see both the + icon to create a new Bid and the Select Bid dropdown. Choose the action that fits your needs. Only one Bid can be linked at a time.

Step 4: Save the Smart Item

After creating or selecting the Bid, click the greem Save Icon on the Smart Item form. This links the Bid to your item.

If you create a new Bid, its name will automatically update to include the Smart Item name (e.g., “Bid - AR-0276 - 001”).

To remove a Bid from the form, click the Delete icon. This only removes the link—it does not delete the Bid itself.
