The FINANCE™ Editor gives you the ability to select an existing Bid Response directly from within a Smart Item form. This streamlines the process by letting you review and map your Bid Responses without leaving the form.
Note: The Bid Response Manager only supports selecting from existing Bid Responses. Creating new Bid Responses from the form is not supported.
Step 1: Add the FINANCE™ Editor Field to Your Form
Open your App in AppStudio™ and go to the App Designer.
From the list of available field types, drag the FINANCE™ Editor into your form layout.
Click on the FINANCE™ Editor field to open its settings.
Step 2: Configure the FINANCE™ Editor for Bid Responses
Under the Details tab, complete the following:
Tile Name: FINANCE™ Editor
Type: Editor
Display Name: For example, "Finance: Bid Responses"
Enable the Do you want to Filter by Status? option. Then, choose the Bid Response statuses that users should be allowed to select from (e.g., “Draft”, “Ready to Submit”).
Step 3: Select a Bid Response in the Form
Once configured, users filling out the Smart Item will be able to select a Bid Response.
Click the Select Bid Response dropdown or the SELECT BID RESPONSE button.
A list of Bid Responses matching the status filter will appear.
Choose the appropriate Bid Response from the list.
After selection, the form will display key details about the chosen Bid Response:
Name of the Bid Response
Last Modified Date
Total Bid Amount
Company that requested the Bid
Current Status
Click the OPEN BID RESPONSE button if you want to review or update the Bid Response.
Step 4: Save the Smart Item
Click the green Save icon to confirm the mapping between your Smart Item and the selected Bid Response.
Any updates you make to the Bid Response (such as adjusting the bid value) will be reflected in the linked section of the Smart Item after saving.
Notes
Only existing Bid Responses can be linked. There is no option to create new Bid Responses from the form.
You can remove the mapped Bid Response using the Delete icon. This only removes the connection; it does not delete the actual Bid Response.
The Bid Response remains linked even if its status changes later.
